My Friend Erin made a dress like this for her daughter and it inspired me to dust off the old sewing machine (which I seem to only use around Halloween), and give it a whirl. It is made out of a man's dress shirt! Clever, eh? You use the buttons on the shirt front for the back of the dress and the front is the yoke. I wish I was clever enough to think of this myself, or even just find the website, but I am a dang good idea thief. Anyway, Lils loves it and it cost about 8 for the shirt and trim. I'll put the link here. Oh, and I didn't pose her with the flower, she is just a natural poser. You should see her preen herself when someone is looking at her!

that is such an adorable dress! I can't beleive you made it, that's amazing!
What a cute idea. Maybe if I get daring, very daring, I'll try it. It would be so fun to have matching dresses for the girls.
Oh my...I can't believe how big she is getting last time I saw her she was as big as...well I guess how big my baby is!! Wow times flies...
Hey Jen,
I will be available any of those days. I like to do evenings because the lighting is the best. I charge $60 and that includes 10 edited images with the copyright so that you can do whatever you want with them and print them wherever you want. My husband hates having pictures done too...so I completely understand. It's not really a guy thing to love. But if he does warm up to the idea, I would love to do your cute little family! Let me know.

Holy cow, that's cute. And I love the monsoon pics. You look awesome, Jen! I'm very envious of your skinny little legs. (Skinny in a good way!)
You're welcome, although I want to make it clear that I did not come up with the idea either. My sewing skills are extremely limited. Although, at church the other day I noticed some boys in my primary class were wearing cute button shirts with a yoke on the back and I caught myself wondering if they could be converted into a little baby dress. We have a thrift store around here that sells all their clothes for $.25, maybe I'll have to stop by again.
I'll say it again, Lily is adorable and you did an amazing job on the dress!
I don't care if you stole that idea...I can't believe you made that! I have no sewing skills and with no sewing machine, I have no way to gain any such skills. Lil's dress is absolutely adorable, you did an amazing job.
I love the monsoon post as well. I had no idea that Arizona had a monsoon season either until our trip down there.
I love stuff like that. I just made Janie a jean skirt from a pair of her old jeans. The instructions were in the Family Fun magazine. I am definetly going to check this out! Can't wait to see you.
That is adorable! I would wear something like that, for sure. Although that would be a heck of a shirt to start with to get it in my size, ya think?
She's so pretty. All she needs now is a plastic dinosaur stuck to her face. ;)
Good job Jen- very cute!
Wow. That's way cool. Way to go!
Incredible. I am soooo impressd. I sew but can't seem to get past quilting and other really easy things like that. I only sew in straight lines. So way to go!!
