Japanese TV Clip (of the Week?)

I admire Japanese culture. I admire the respect and courtesy with which they treat others in social interactions. I admire their concepts of honor. I admire their economic productivity, their academic achievement, and their technological innovation. But until recently I didn't realize how much I appreciate their television programming choices.

Between Ellen (namely her recent fascination with human tetris) and the Spike TV show MXC, you may have some familiarity with the kind of shows I'm talking about. If not, then I'm proud to introduce you to the world of Japanese television (as depicted by Youtube), in what may very well become a weekly tradition--Jen and viewer opinions pending.

Without further ado I give you Japanese television . . .

Okay, so my first clip was a bit much for the women folk. I've imposed some self censorship and changed the clip. Hopefully this one is more palatable.

I guess groin shots just don't do the comedic trick for women. Go figure.

I enjoyed the clip...maybe I enjoy watching people hurt themselves. But Jack and I laughed the whole way through. This was Jack's first exposure to Japanese t.v. I wish I could say it was mine as well, but we indulge in Spike t.v every Friday at work during lunch time.
